Jamie Rhodes, this year’s Support Employee of the Year, has played a huge role as head custodian and plant manager in allowing us to remain open and meet face-to-face. He is often one of the first to arrive at GMS and starts his day cleaning our school so it is ready for all of us. Some other tasks that he does to support students are helping out with car line traffic, delivering canteen items during sporting events, serving pizza by the slice at our school dances, contributing to our end-of-the year field days, and often grilling food for students. He has also saved some baby squirrels and nursed them back to full recovery! A colleague of his says, “He is a quiet gentleman but does whatever it takes for Gettys Middle and we are blessed to have him as a leader.” Another colleague stated that “he is a great person to work for and is always willing to lend a helping hand whenever it is needed. He leads by example and he can also bake some wonderful peanut butter cake!” Congratulations to Jamie Rhodes, our 2022-23 GMS Support Employee of the Year!
