On March 4, 2023, the GMS Jazz Band traveled to Newberry College to perform at the South Carolina Jazz Ensemble Performance Assessment and received a rating of Superior (the highest rating) from every judge! Also, Santiago Lozada was selected as Outstanding Soloist for Gettys Middle School.
