fall fetival

CENTRAL, S.C. — D.W. Daniel High School is excited today for a uniquely spirited and community-focused Fall Festival, held on campus during both lunch periods. While the festival will feature games, activities, and plenty of student energy, the heart of today’s event is a major student-led food drive benefiting families in Central, Clemson, and Six Mile.

A Festival With Purpose

Clubs and school organizations will have booths offering games and activities for students during the festival. Food trucks will be available on campus during both lunches, and one of the day’s most anticipated events is a teacher race in inflatable suits, with student participation adding to the comedy and excitement.

But the most important part of today is Daniel’s commitment to supporting local families during a challenging November.

With schools closed for a full week during Thanksgiving, many children in the community will miss access to free breakfast and lunch—a vital support provided by the School District of Pickens County and the State of South Carolina. In addition, the ongoing federal government shutdown may delay or interrupt some families’ SNAP benefits, creating further hardship.

Daniel High School students are stepping up. They are bringing canned goods and nonperishable items to today’s Fall Festival to ensure that families across the school’s three attendance areas—Central, Clemson, and Six Mile—have support during this difficult month.

Collected food will be divided evenly among the three communities and distributed through Clemson Community Care, the Town of Central, and the Town of Six Mile.
